Sports Medicine Oregon

I began working at Sports Medicine Oregon in April of 2024. My position there is as the sole design creative of the company; anything design or marketing related is brought to me. From first step to finish I am responsible for concepting designs, making them, and getting the desired final result delivered in very fast turnaround times. My work largely fell into a marketing niche: my projects ranging from social media posts, logo editing/redesign, photography, stationery design, minimal website editing, photo editing, and other marketing materials like flyers and brochures.

This position has been incredibly useful in my development as a professional designer. The handling of every project through every single step of the process has given me a lot of experience and know-how in the most effective ways to get projects done with the right amount of speed and quality. As there wasn’t always an immediate design project on hand, I was asked to do other jobs around the clinic and help other departments. This often meant my time to work on a design during the workday was limited, and so I quickly learned the most effective methods to keep my designs to a high standard whilst also delivering a final product very quickly.

It has also given me experience in presenting myself and my work. As I only work alone here, it has been solely on me to communicate the design side of the process to the clinic management. Before me, there hadn’t been a designer in office and existing design variables were limited at best. As it was new to the management to directly work with a designer, it fell on me to make sure the vital aspects of projects and the process behind them were understood. This included aspects such as realistic deadlines, working with 3rd parties to get deliverables produced, and realistic options for specific designs.

Marketing Flyer for high schools / PCP offices

This project was initially made to be distributed in local high schools and eventually a version was made purely for primary care offices. I was specifically asked to give it a feeling more geared toward a younger crowd given it’s intended location. We wanted which felt modern and a little louder than other projects so it would catch the attention of a mostly sporty teenage demographic.

Clinic Trifold Brochure

  • For this project, we wanted to design a new brochure to replace the older, out-of-date one that neither looked modern enough, nor had accurate information about the clinic personnel anymore.

  • Are main target points were to have a clean modern look, hit all vital clinic information we wanted marketed, present all the doctors in the office, reference that we’re the official team physicians for the Portland Timbers and Thorns, and make sure there’s plenty of color and sporty imagery.

Marketing Postcard

  • For this project, my office wanted something we could give to potential patients to increase awareness. They wanted something sporty and not too complex, just enough to get the vital information across.

  • I tried to keep to our main blue and green color scheme and found imagery I felt did well showing positivity and inclusion.

Founders Scholarship: In Honor of Dr. Greenleaf

  • The company decided to set up a scholarship in honor of Dr. Jonathan Greenleaf, one of the original providers who founded the clinic, who retired in 2025.

  • The CEO asked for a design to be quickly made for the retirement party for him and his PA. She wanted a sleek professional design including all the information present, and whilst the logo was not vital she wanted it if possible. I chose to alter the colors a little to blend better with the tone and other shades of navy.
